Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award |
|
Created by a gift endowment from the late Edward A. Dickson, Regent of the University of California from 1913 to 1946, the Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award honors outstanding research, scholarly work, teaching, and/or educational service (e.g. service in professional, University, Academic Senate, emeriti, departmental, or editorial posts or committees) performed at UCLA by an emeritus or emerita professor since retirement. Each of the UC campuses has received funds that will support one or more awards each year. Departments are limited to one nomination each year. The full supporting dossier should include a cover letter outlining the nominee’s distinctive research, scholarly work and/or educational service since retirement, a copy of his or her curriculum vitae, and supporting letters from two leaders in the field commenting specifically on the nominee’s achievements since retirement. Members of the Emeriti Association are also being solicited for nominations, but they should keep the related Department informed of their intentions. Nominations are due by Friday, February 6, 2009 and should be submitted to: Dickson Emeritus Professorship Award The awardee(s) will be announced on or before April 17, 2009. The award, consisting of a cash prize and a certificate, will be presented at the Spring dinner meeting of the UCLA Emeriti Association.
