Visiting Scholar Health & Welfare Benefits

 
As visitors to the University, UCLA Visiting Scholars are not eligible for participation in the University’s staff & faculty health & welfare plans, including the UC Postdoctoral Scholar Benefits Plan.

If a visiting scholar is sponsored on a J-1 visa as an exchange visitor, they and their dependents MUST carry adequate health insurance for the duration of their stay in the United States.
